Paradise Football Club maintained their position at the top of the Barbados Football Association Premier League standings with a hard-earned 2–1 victory over Bagatelle FC at the BFA Technical Centre.
The result sees Paradise move to 27 points, keeping them ahead of defending champions Weymouth Wales in a tightly contested title race.
Paradise made an explosive start, asserting control early in the contest. Tyrell Rayside-Demendonca opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing confidently to cap off a sharp attacking move. Just three minutes later, Kamal Griffith doubled the advantage, applying a composed finish beyond goalkeeper Kevon Allsopp to put Paradise firmly in command.
The first half reflected Paradise at their clinical best, as the side capitalised on space left by Bagatelle’s high defensive line. The attacking unit moved with purpose, while the midfield ensured consistent pressure and control of possession.
The performance was made even more impressive given the absence of key players, including captain Jomo Harris, Jaron Oughterson, and forward Sheran Hoyte. In their absence, stand-in captain Ramon Manning delivered a commanding display at the back, organising the defensive line with authority. Alongside him, Raquan Clarke read the game intelligently, helping to neutralise Bagatelle’s attacking threats.
Bagatelle responded strongly after the interval, showing greater urgency and cohesion. Their efforts were rewarded in the 61st minute when captain Torian Joseph delivered a precise ball to the far post, where Jahreece Springer finished to reduce the deficit.
The final stages saw increased pressure from Bagatelle as they searched for an equaliser. However, Paradise remained composed defensively. Manning and Clarke continued to lead from the back, while the unit stayed disciplined to close out the match and secure all three points.
Goalkeeper Jireh Malcolm also played his part, providing assurance when called upon as Paradise saw out a crucial victory.
The club also acknowledges the strong support from travelling fans, whose presence and energy continue to play an important role in the team’s push this season.
